Amex India's Reward Multiplier programme, which gave accelerated Membership Rewards on purchases with select brands, closes on 30 September 2026; purchases completed by 29 September are honoured. Accelerated points on eligible ShopWise e-voucher purchases continue.

Amex Platinum Travel domestic lounge visits need quarterly spend
From 1 October 2026 the 2 domestic lounge visits a quarter require eligible spend in the previous quarter: ₹70,000 in Q3 2026 for Q4 visits, then ₹1 lakh a quarter from Q4 2026 for Q1 2027 visits.

Reported: Amex MRCC to lose its 50% annual fee waiver tier
CardInsider reports that the 50% renewal-fee waiver on the Membership Rewards Credit Card at ₹90,000 of annual spend ends from 11 October 2026, with monthly milestones counted by posting date. Amex's MRCC page still shows the waiver with no end date.

Reported: Amex Membership Rewards points to stop pooling across cards
Live From A Lounge reports, from cardmember emails, that from 11 October 2026 each proprietary Amex card's Membership Rewards balance will be kept separately, with no transfers between cards. Amex India hasn't published this on its website, and its current Membership Rewards terms still allow linking cards to pool points.

Amex Platinum Travel drops ₹1.9L milestone; ₹7L now gives ₹20,000 Taj voucher only
The ₹1.9 lakh milestone (7,500 points) is gone, the ₹4 lakh milestone stays at 10,000 points, and the ₹7 lakh milestone now gives a ₹20,000 Taj voucher instead of 22,500 points plus a ₹10,000 voucher. Milestone points at ₹7 lakh of spend fall from 40,000 to 10,000.

1,000 Membership Rewards points now convert to 800 Virgin Atlantic points (was 500) and 1,500 Hilton Honors points (was 900).

Amex India drops Etihad Guest as a points transfer partner
Membership Rewards points can no longer be transferred to Etihad Guest in India from 1 July 2026, as part of Amex's global exit from the partnership. Transfers had been at a 2:1 ratio.

Amex Platinum Travel halves ₹1.9L milestone, moves Taj voucher to ₹7L
The ₹1.9 lakh milestone dropped to 7,500 Membership Rewards points from 15,000, and the ₹4 lakh milestone now gives only 10,000 points. The ₹10,000 Taj voucher moved to a new ₹7 lakh milestone that also gives 22,500 points.
